Unbelievable Girl!

After having surgery on Thursday, my sweet girl went to school today!  She came over at 6A and was complaining her arm was hurting...I gave her some Motrin and she went back to sleep in our bed.  Daddy tried to wake her to get ready, "Clare do you want to go to school?  no...Do you want mommy to take you in late?...yes"  When I took her into her classroom...Ava her good friend..."Clare you are back!!!  We missed you!"  Her best friend Tori  said, "Ms Elizabeth, I will stay by Clare all day so I can help her out!"  I got a call around 12 from the nurse..."Clare is complaining about a headache"  So I dropped by to give her another dose of Motrin.  We were able to change her soft cast and put on a splint.  I was really scared to see what was going to be under it...It looks great!!!  Here are a few pics of all of her signatures..

Our Brave Brave Girl!

Today was a very emotional day, Clare had surgery on her L arm at JHH.  Her surgery was only supposed to last for 1 hour but after talking to Dr. Tis, he wanted to add a couple of more steps in order to straighten up her arm.  Clare was in the OR for almost 2 1/2 hours.  After eating breakfast with Steph, I stopped at the Jesus statue...I had a huge reality check!  While saying some prayers I looked down to the bottom of the statue where I saw a note signed by several children..."please make us cancer free!"  I then realized how lucky I was!!!  Clare had fantastic care by all the staff especially her anesthesiologist, Dr. Ledbetter and her pre op nurse.  We also had lots of thoughtful friends stop by!  Clare was spoiled by coming home to a huge bouquet of balloons with a bag of goodies, then we had two other surprise visitors also bearing thoughtful gifts...bell to ring for service(which hasn't stopped ringing...), more balloons, stuffed animals, homemade cards, lollipops and books.  It really makes me feel good knowing how much people care about our sweet Clare!  She is finally sleeping after being brave about her arm and belly hurting, at least she only threw up once.  Every time when I would take her to the bathroom she would say, "mommy, I wish I never had this bump"  Clare I wish too!!!!

This is right after we got home

Best Patient

John got 2 out of 4 cavities filled yesterday.  He was very nervous and I was also but it went very well with help from Versed, "laughing " gas, fabulous dentist and hygienist.  The whole time, he was laughing and constantly talking...Dr Hasson and Ms Peggy were in stitches during the entire appointment.  At one point, John said "This is sooooo awesome!  I love getting my cavities filled, I want to come back again!"  Dr Hasson told him, "maybe you will be a dentist."  Dr. Hasson also said, "you got to love when you have this type of patient compared to the others!"  Today John was bragging to our neighbor, "Yesterday I only had two things to eat, Mc Flurry and dinner!"  My poor boy had to be NPO before his appointment, it was killing him!  He sure made up for his lack of food today!

Best Buds

Clare and Luke are the best buddies ever!  Today they were very busy going on a Dora adventure and needed to take a quick nap..."mommy these are our new beds!"
